It usually makes sense to try to settle a
case and work things out to avoid airing
your dirty laundry in the courtroom. That
said, you only get one chance to make a
good first impression with the court and if
the opposing party-parent will not be
reasonable, you need to get aggressive
about preparing to testify and cross
examine the opposing party.

Get Prepared.
A lawyer can assist you with every type of
custody claim. To date, our firm has
represented a parents, grandparents and
others in custody matters throughout
Western Pennsylvania. We handle claims
for total custody, partial custody and/or
visitation only filed in Pennsylvania and
also interstate claims. Our lawyers also
handle emergency claims for custody. If,
for example, you have no order concerning
custody, either parent may take the child
anywere in the United States without the
other parents' permission. You may need
an emergency custody order if there is a
real threat of your child leaving the
jurisdiction. Our firm handles those types
of motions.

Get Results.
We also attend custody conferences and
proceedings before hearing officers and
judges and/or custody trials. Our attorneys
also handle appeals to custody resolutions.
Further, in the context of a custody
determination, we also handle other
matters that may surface, such as
Protection from Abuse Hearings (PFA) that
take place while child support issues
remain ongoing. We negotiate with other
lawyers to resolve the matter most
efficiently and beneficial to you, your child
or children. Our attorneys always try to
negotiate with the other lawyer or lawyers
involved in the case. Call us to speak with
experienced family law attorneys on this
matter.

Claims by a Grandparent.
Each Pittsburgh lawyer in our firm can
analyze your case to evaluate whether a
grandparent has standing to seek full,
temporary, or partial custody. In many
cases, a grandparent will
lack standing for
lack of having served as the primary care
giver for the sufficient lenght of time. In
addition, there are various other
requirements that must be met for
grandparent (or other family member)
standing. We evaluate the basis for
standing for a grandparent or other family
member and we handle representation of
grandparents and other family members at
conferences, hearings, and trials. As
always, our attorneys try to negotiate
with the litigant or lawyer on the other
side of the case to bring about the most
reasonable resolution of every case. We
handle these issues throughout Allegheny
County (including Pittsburgh). Call us to
speak with experienced family law
attorneys on this matter.
Our family law practice handles divorce (fault and no fault), claims for
child custody (grandparent, parent, father, mother, step parent,
interstate), dependency hearings, PFA (protection from abuse), support
(spousal support, alimony
pendente lite, child support), prenuptial
agreements, cohabitation agreements, and adoption. Get a lawyer who
will work with opposing counsel to bring your divorce, claim for support,
or child custody matter to an efficient and reasonable resolution. Our
Pittsburgh family law attorneys will reasonably handle your prenuptial
agreement or the dissolution of your marriage and we'll get agressive
with a petition for contempt when needed following an order for divorce,
alimony, spousal support, or child custody than necessary. We suggest
that you rely on an experienced family law lawyer who has respesented a
husband or a wife in prior cases and can see the issue from all sides.
Your lawyer should look for an early resolution of all calims for support
(APL and spousal), child custody and other family law and divorce
matters when possible. We have offices in Western Pennsylvania:
Allegheny County, serving Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, Ross, Bellevue,
Avalon, Sewickely, Shaler, Monroeville, Monongahela, Moon, Fox Chapel,
